About Me

For thirty-three years, I have lived, breathed, desired, loved, and intellectualized across Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.  Born in Tulsa, I quickly moved and was raised by a pack of coyotes in Conway, Arkansas, returned years later to Tulsa for taming and acculturating (including learning personal hygiene and human behavior responses) before escaping once again to the hills of Arkansas, where along this adventurous path, I received a B.A. Degree in English from the University of Arkansas.  After four years of studying American and British Literature, Contemporary Poetry, Ozark Folklore, and Popular Culture, I once again spent an entire year walking with the coyotes of Arkansas until…the FATES kidnapped me from my yelping family and forced me to enroll and later receive an M.A. Degree in English from Southwest Missouri State University, where I studied Contemporary Critical Theory, British Romanticism, and Classical/Modern Rhetoric.  Though I argued with the FATES to give me the freedom to choose my own destiny, they rejected my claim and moved me to Moberly Area Community College, then to Southwestern Illinois College, and now Oklahoma City Community College, where I currently teach English Composition I and II, Creative Writing/Poetry, Comparative Religions, and Film Studies.  Though I occasionally search for my lost pack (of coyote family), I reside with my wife, my four little coyotes, two dogs, two cats, and turtle.
